Double-blind Study of Rheoma^(®) (piroxicam potassium injection) in Orthopedic Fields

Abstract
|
|
|
We reviewed the efficacy of Rheoma(Piroxicam K 20mg) in 30 patients who visited our hospital from Jun. 1995 to Oct. 1995.
They are consisted with degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, synovitis and tendinitis.
The effectiveness was evaluated by tenderness, swelling, pain at rest, pain on motion,
Clinical exam and laboratory studies were done before the injection of Rheoma´ and 1.23 and 4th weeks after injection.
The results were as follows ;
I . The overall result was excellent in five, good in fourteen, Fair in three and poor in three.
2. As complications, GI. trouble in one patient, edema in one and pain on injection area on two.
However the complicated symptoms improved normally after cessation of injection, there was no complications such as dermatologic symptoms.
3. In conclusion, Rheoma is thought to be effective in control of chronic degenerative disease without significant complications.
